Alejandro (Alex) Sanoja, MD

Head of Translational Research in Sports Medicine

Dr. Alejandro Sanoja was born in Concord, Massachusetts and is a graduate of Palm Beach State College. He achieved a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Florida, where he also began research in human molecular genetics and connective tissue disorders as a McNair Research Scholar. At the University of Arizona, Alejandro studied the genetics of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, while completing an MD degree. He is currently serving as Chief Resident of Emergency Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach and is a current candidate for Sports Medicine Fellowship.  

Dr. Sanoja has 10 years of research experience in both wet lab and clinical domains. He has particular interest in translational studies for musculoskeletal disorders, orthobiologics, ultrasound diagnosis and procedural guidance, and regenerative medicine.

Dr. Sanoja is a current member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy for Emergency Medicine. He currently resides in Miami Beach, FL. While not working, he enjoys playing basketball, fishing, and spending time with his large family.
