Dr. Gustavo Munguba is a highly personable and team-driven physician with a deep commitment to delivering exceptional individualized ophthalmic clinical and surgical care. Throughout his residency training, Dr. Munguba earned recognition for his remarkable ability to put patients at ease, attentively listen to their concerns, and address them with utmost care. He gained extensive experience working with a diverse patient population and encountered a wide range of clinical pathology in both inpatient and outpatient settings. His training even included working at a level-1 trauma center, where he directly managed acute and elective surgical and clinical ophthalmic care. Notably, he also served at the surgical ophthalmic practice of the third-largest Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital in the North East Ohio area, collaborating closely with optometry professionals to deliver comprehensive care to America's Veterans. This invaluable experience provided him with unique insights into refractive patient selection and post-operative care.

Currently, Dr. Munguba practices in a high-volume cataract/refractive setting with a particular focus on premium intraocular lenses (IOLs). His surgical expertise is truly impressive, as he performs an exceptional range of 10-30 cataract surgeries on a weekly basis. In addition, he possesses proficiency in combined procedures involving Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), such as the i-Stent 1 and i-Stent 2. Dr. Munguba is also highly skilled in patient selection and surgical techniques for multifocal, toric, and multifocal toric platforms, including ReSTOR, Symphony, and Synergy lenses.
