Juliana Nnoko, PhD

Dr. Juliana Nnoko brings over 18 years of rich experience in impactful research, advocacy, and leadership roles, predominantly in the higher education and international human rights sectors. Her career highlights include a significant tenure at Human Rights Watch (HRW) in New York, where she served as a Senior Researcher focusing on Women, Land, and Resource Rights. Her expertise encompasses strategy development, implementing groundbreaking research, and authoring compelling reports on land rights, environmental issues, and climate mitigation strategies across various continents. Dr. Nnoko has a proven track record in conducting in-depth investigations into human rights violations, particularly those impacting Indigenous peoples and local communities.

 Adept in building partnerships, Dr. Nnoko has collaborated with various internal and external stakeholders, fostering trusted relationships through conscious design, foresight, and adaptive management. As a manager and mentor, she has successfully led and developed research staff and consultants, ensuring seamless onboarding and integration into complex organizational cultures. Her skills extend to being an editor and a strong advocate for women's rights, land and natural resource rights, housing rights, and Indigenous peoples' rights. 

In her role at KweHealth, Dr. Nnoko will be instrumental in shaping our organizational culture, focusing on diversity, equity, inclusion, and staff well-being. She will leverage her extensive experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing innovative HR policies to support our drive for innovation and success, while foster an environment of belonging and collegiality. Her proficiency in native West African languages, English, and conversational French will further enhance her effectiveness in this global role.

Dr. Nnoko holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Iowa State University, with concentrations in Social Change and Development, and International Development and Food Security. She also has a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Northern Iowa and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology and Criminology. Additionally, she has completed certificates in Project Management, International Human Rights Law and Land Grabbing, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

 Her diverse experience, spanning continents and sectors, positions Dr. Nnoko as an invaluable asset to KweHealth. We are excited to have her lead our company’s growth and HR efforts, ensuring that our work environment is as innovative and nurturing as our approach to healthcare.
