Dr. Ronald R. Cobb, Ph.D., is a seasoned Molecular Biologist with an impressive 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical and medical device R&D. He began his academic journey at Wake Forest University, earning a B.A. in Biology in 1980, followed by a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Medical College of Georgia in 1985​​.

Dr. Cobb has a rich background in managing various stages of drug development, from early-stage research to launch, with a particular focus on molecular biology, protein expression/purification, project management, and drug discovery. He is an author of over 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters, showcasing his extensive knowledge in recombinant protein product development, stretching from early-stage research to Phase II clinical manufacturing​​.

His professional trajectory includes several noteworthy positions. From 1992 to 1999, he served as Research Scientist II at Tanabe Research Laboratories USA Inc. in San Diego, CA, where he was responsible for molecular biology services across various research projects, managing drug discovery programs, and co-authoring 14 peer-reviewed manuscripts​​.

In subsequent roles, Dr. Cobb served as Senior Scientist at Berlex Biosciences, where he led the Protein Expression Group, and as Director of Research and R&D at RTI Biologics Inc. His responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of research and development, publishing strategies, collaborating with regulatory groups for FDA submissions, and launching numerous new products and technology platforms​​.

As the Chief Scientific Officer at Ology Bioservices Inc., he managed all aspects of R&D projects, including pilot plant operations, technology transfer, process development for biological and small molecule pharmaceutical products, and led the development of vaccines for Norovirus and botulism​​.

Dr. Cobb is also a co-founder and board member of a company in Alachua, FL, known for developing a unique bone void filler and a novel hydrogel for dental and peripheral nerve damage applications. Currently, he works with Biodeals LLC in Dunnellon, FL, aiding start-up and established biotech companies in developing innovative technologies. Additionally, he serves as Operator in Residence at Mass General Brigham Ventures Amplify Group in Cambridge, MA, where he focuses on the identification and development of biological-based technologies​​.
